On the 14th of November 2020, African Cleanup Initiative in partnership with Nikkyz Foundation went to Early Life Community, Festac to introduce the Recyclespay Educational project and Recycling Empowerment and Advocacy project (REAP) to members of the community. The Outreach was centred on sensitising the community members on the projects.

The meeting started at about 10:30am with opening prayer from the team lead of Nikkyz Foundation, Mrs Nweke Blessing Nneka and brief Introduction of her team members and the African Cleanup Initiative team members to the early life community members. She then gave a brief speech on the reason for the outreach.

At about 11am the Communication Manager of African Cleanup Initiative, Mrs. Blessing Onyelekwe introduced the projects, its importance and the need for the community members to embrace the projects.

The Project Manager of African Cleanup Initiative Mr. Munnir Adams gave the breakdown on how the project will be executed in the community after which the collection of PET bottles from the community members commenced.

The team members of Nikkyz Foundation assisted in the collection and weighing of the PET bottles brought by members of the community. As part of the outreach, Nikkyz Foundation gave out food to the children of the community.

Everyone whose recyclables was collected were grateful to African CleanUp Initiative and Nikkyz Foundation for organizing an avenue for them to earn through their recyclables. They look forward to the next time we are coming back.

Mr. Alexander Akhigbe the CEO of African Cleanup Initiative gave the vote of thanks and thanked everyone (both community members and volunteers from ACI and Nikkyz foundation) for their great reception and participation in the successful execution of the outreach.
