On the 25th of November 2020, African Cleanup Initiative went to Ijaiye Housing Estate Senior Grammar School to introduce the Bottles for Pad Project to the students. The meeting was to sensitize the students of the school on the bottles for pad project, its importance to their menstrual hygiene and to their environment.
The Recyclespay Debate Competition 2020 preliminaries was held on the 18th and 19th of November 2020 at Government Junior College Agege, Lagos state with 40 schools from the Lagos Education district 1 participating according to their Zones ( Alimosho, Ifako-Ijaiye and Agege zones) but only 12 schools will be moving to the finals which will hold on the 4th of December 2020. The topic debated on by the junior is ” Plastic Packaging should be banned” while the seniors debated on the topic ” Climate Change is the greatedt threat facing humanity”. This project is proudly sponsored by the Cocacola Foundation.
African Cleanup Initiative was nominated for the Ken Saro-Wiwa Environmental Management Category in the 2020 Community and Human Rights Award CAHR Award alongside other organizations like Guinness Nigeria, Nigeria Breweries, The Network of Civil Society in Environment, International Climate Change Development Initiative, Women in Technology in Nigeria and International Breweries.
On the 14th of November 2020, African Cleanup Initiative in partnership with Nikkyz Foundation went to Early Life Community, Festac to introduce the Recyclespay Educational project and Recycling Empowerment and Advocacy project (REAP) to members of the community. The Outreach was centred on sensitising the community members on the projects.
African Cleanup Initiative (ACI) on the 12th of November 2020 visited Aguda Grammar School Complex to introduce the Bottles for Pad Project. The meeting was to sensitize the students of Aguda Junior and Senior Grammar School on the importance of the Bottles for Pad project to them and the environment.
